A Thanksgiving Message from One Vision Inspections Gratitude, Home, and the Heart of Iowa

As Thanksgiving arrives here in Iowa, we’re once again reminded that a house is much more than walls, windows, and floors. It’s where families gather, stories are shared, and memories are baked right into the walls like a good pumpkin pie.

At One Vision Inspections, we spend our days inside homes across all 99 counties — from older farmhouses with character and creaky floors to brand-new builds that still smell like fresh lumber. And every time we walk through a front door, we’re reminded of just how important a safe, healthy home truly is.


But Thanksgiving puts that into sharp focus.


It’s the time of year when we slow down (even inspectors!), look around, and appreciate what we often take for granted:

  • A warm home

  • A sturdy roof

  • A furnace that kicks on when the snow starts falling

  • And most importantly — the people who make that house a home


This year, we are incredibly thankful for YOU — the homeowners, buyers, sellers, families, agents, and communities across Iowa who have trusted One Vision to help protect their biggest investment. Every inspection we perform is more than a job; it’s a responsibility we take seriously.


Thanksgiving Home Safety Reminders


While you’re prepping the turkey and catching up with family, here are a few gentle safety reminders we share each year:

  • Check your smoke and CO detectors — cooking season pushes them to overtime

  • Keep flammables away from your oven and range

  • Don’t overload power strips when plugging in crockpots, roasters, and holiday lights

  • If you’re deep-frying a turkey, do it outside, away from the house, and never frozen

  • And as always, keep an eye on little ones near hot surfaces and kitchen tools


A little awareness goes a long way toward making the day both joyful and safe.
