HUD Manufactured Home Foundation Certifications

Financing, refinancing, or completing a transaction involving a manufactured home may require documentation showing that the home and its foundation meet applicable HUD permanent foundation requirements.
One Vision Inspections performs the on-site field inspection and documents the required property information for MFD Home Certs to review as part of the HUD foundation certification process. We work in partnership with MFD Home Certs, where a licensed Professional Engineer reviews the submitted information and, when the applicable requirements are satisfied, issues the certification.
We provide HUD manufactured home foundation certification field inspections throughout Iowa. Properties located more than 50 miles from our office are subject to an additional mileage charge based on round-trip driving distance.
What Type of Certification Do You Need?

Permanent Foundation Certification — $450*, **
For an existing manufactured home when documentation is needed to determine whether the permanent foundation meets applicable HUD requirements.
First Permanent Foundation Certification — $450*, **
For a manufactured home being installed on its first permanent foundation when certification is required for financing or another transaction.
Addition Certification — Stand-Alone — $350*, **
For an addition, such as an attached porch, deck, garage, room addition, or other structure, when separate engineering review and certification are required.
Addition Certification — Add-On — $200*, **

What We Document
One Vision Inspections performs the on-site field inspection and documents the required property information for MFD Home Certs to review as part of the certification process.
Documentation requirements may vary depending on the property and type of certification requested. We collect and submit the information required by MFD Home Certs for their engineering review.
Already Have a Request From Your Lender?

Not sure what they're asking for?
If you've received an email, appraisal condition, lender requirement, or other request for a manufactured-home foundation certification, contact us and provide a copy of the request. We can help identify the appropriate field inspection service before scheduling.
Who May Need a HUD Foundation Certification?
HUD foundation certifications are commonly requested in connection with manufactured-home financing and real estate transactions. Requirements may vary depending on the lender, loan program, property, and transaction.
If your lender, mortgage company, appraiser, real estate professional, or other party has requested a HUD foundation certification, permanent foundation certification, engineer's foundation certification, or similar documentation, send us the request and we'll help determine which field inspection service is appropriate.
Important: Field Inspection vs. Engineering Certification

One Vision Inspections does not independently issue the engineering certification.
One Vision Inspections performs the on-site field inspection and collects the measurements, photographs, and documentation required for review. The information is submitted to MFD Home Certs, where a licensed Professional Engineer performs the engineering review and issues the certification when applicable requirements are satisfied.
A field inspection does not guarantee certification. Additional documentation, repairs, modifications, or reinspection may be necessary if the property does not initially meet the applicable requirements.
